 Character Synopsis

Gowasu and Zamasu watch from the sidelines as the primitive beasts battle each other on the planet Babari. That’s how they behave now, but what about a thousand years in the future? Will they develop beyond this type of activity? Gowasu pulls out the “Time Ring” – which Zamasu seems to have heard of before – and explains that they can use it under special circumstances to visit the future and then return to their exact world as before. Zamasu asks about traveling to the past, but Gowasu explains that it is strictly forbidden and extremely dangerous. When history is changed through time travel, a different or parallel world is created and a new ring is born. A being from an advanced civilization in universe 12 created a way to travel through time and his escapades gave rise to the ring. Gowasu looks down at the box again and notices that there are four rings, one more than he last observed. Someone recently had to go back in time and create a parallel world. Zamasu pauses for a moment, noting that he understands, and wishes to continue traveling a thousand years into the future to observe the progress of the Babars. Only Kaiōshin can travel through time, so Gowasu temporarily promotes Zamasu from Kaiō to Kaiōshin with a travel earring. Be sure to place the earrings on the same side so they don’t accidentally connect forever; Zamasu doesn’t seem to enjoy the idea in the least.
The pair travel to the future and things look promising at first: Gowasu finds a shelter, signs of a writing system, and even a musical instrument. Around the corner, however, Zamasu finds that the entire civilization is at war with one another, perhaps even worse than before. Zamasu concludes that the universe would indeed be better off without these kinds of beings. Gowasu notices what appears to be an elder about to attack, but just then the gods are attacked from behind. Zamasu knocks the beasts back and tells Gowasu it’s time for them to leave. Ignoring him completely, Zamasu flared up in anger and formed an energy blade around his hand. Zamasu cuts the alien in half and completes the attack with a smirk. Gowasu yells at Zamasu that they are leaving; the two immediately return and Gowasu asks for the earring back along with an explanation of what just happened. Zamasu explains that these worthless creatures do not deserve to live and wonders why the Kaiōshins even exist when their only duty is to watch rather than use their power to intervene and judge. They must be rational and just like the gods, explains Gowasu. However, the journey has taken its toll on him, and he wishes for Zamasu to prepare tea.
