Summary
After a tearful hug with his father, Upa informs his father that he was revived from his death by the Dragon Balls. As Shenron disappears and before the dragon balls scatter, Gokū targets the four-star dragon ball and jumps up to grab it. The young boy then explains to Upa that he jumped to catch his grandfather’s four-star Dragon Ball, explaining that the balls are inactive for a year before they can be used again. After Upa’s father shows his gratitude to Goku, the young boy leaves Karina’s Holy Land and meets up with the rest of the Dragon Team.
After a short conversation, Goku announces his intention to train for the next Tenka-Ichi Budōkai, leading Yamchu to reveal that he becomes a disciple under Kame-Sennin. Gokū is excited at the opportunity to train with Kulilin and Yamcha under Kame-Sennin, but the Turtle Hermit informs Gokū that he is too strong and has nothing else to learn from him. Kame-Sennin then suggests that Goku travel the world and train and meet the Turtle Hermit at the next Tenkaichi Budōkai. Kame-Sennin also reveals that the time period between tournaments has been shortened from five years to three due to the increasing number of competitors.
Before Gokū leaves, the young boy summons his Kintoun again, but Kame-Sennin teaches him to travel the world without flying cloud to further his training, which Goku and the rest of the Dragon Team accept after initial hesitation. . After Gokū leaves and after Uranai Baba motivates Kame-Sennin not to let Gokū overtake him, the Turtle Hermit instructs the rest of the team to run back to Kame House while Gokū travels the world.
