Summary:
As they fly with Gohan’s stolen energy, Yamu thinks they can revive the Majin and Bobbidi will be very pleased as well. Kaiōshin pursues them from a safe distance. Back at the tournament, Videl rushes to Gohan as Kuririn says she will go with Goku, but she will tell her wife first. Vegeta tells Kakarotto not to mess with him; what about their fight? Vegeta doesn’t care about Kaiōshin or anything, he just wants to settle their scores, one on one. That’s the only reason he came to this stupid tournament. Goku says they can fight afterwards, but Vegeta reminds him that he’s only here for one day. Goku says that’s why Vegeta should come with them. Piccolo flies off first and Goku goes to make sure Kibito takes care of Gohan. With Kibito’s reassurance, Goku also flies off, followed by a reluctant Vegeta. Number 18 says that she is staying here so that she can get a financial reward. Kuririn tells her not to kill anyone and #18 tells him to run if it seems too dangerous as he flies away.
Videl asks Kibit where they all went and he says he’ll know if he goes. Some doctors come to help Gohan, but Kibito tells them to shut up and watch. He places his hand on Gohan’s chest and begins to heal him, thinking of all the unfathomable power and pure energy that Gohan has. Goten and Trunks watch from the roof wondering what happened to Gohan and why they all flew away. Gohan is finally fully healed and Kibito says he will tell him everything if he goes with him and then flies off. Satan notices that Videl is with the child again and gets angry. Videl wants to go too, but Gohan says only if she promises to run if things get dangerous. Gohan and Videl then fly off. Satan sees this and says that Videl has become a hikō girl. (Hikō means “flying” but also “delinquent”. It’s a very bad pun.) Bulma, Chi-Chi, and Yamcha wonder where they all went, and the announcer worries about the Tenka’ichi Budōkai.
Piccolo, Vegeta, Goku, and Kuririn all catch up to Kaiōshin. “So you came after all. This is a great help. I probably can’t win unless you all lend me your power.” Goku asks if he means he can’t beat the two. “No. Those two are just used. From a cunning mage.” A mage? “Yes. Once upon a time, when humanity had just begun to walk two feet on Earth… Far out in space there lived a very evil mage named Bibbidi. One day, Bibbidi inadvertently created an incredible monster. A Majin (lit. “magical being”) called ‘Boo’. Majin Boo had no reason or emotion. He did nothing but repeatedly destroy and massacre. He was a monster born only to bring terror. Within a few years, hundreds of planets turned into death planets.” Vegeta thinks (in his head) that the Saiyans did the same. “No, Vegeta-san. Vegeta is shocked to realize that he has read his mind. “There were five Kaiōshins then. We all had the ability to defeat someone like Freeza with one attack. Of those Kaiōshin, four were killed by Majin Boo. Majin Boo’s ferocity was only controlled by Bibbidi. When he needed to rest, he temporarily shut down Majin Boo.”
Meanwhile, Kibito tells the same story to Gohan and Videl. “Bibbidi brought the sealed Majin Boo to Earth because that was his next target. Kaiōshin had been waiting for this chance. And so, before Boo’s seal was released, he was able to kill Bibbidi. The ball that Majin Boo is sealed in remained sealed without being destroyed. We thought it best not to disturb it unnecessarily. Moreover, the only one who could release the seal was the mage Bibbidi. …However, we recently learned something terrible.” Kaiōshin finishes the story: “Mage Bibbidi had a child…!! He has an evil heart, just like his father. Mage Bobbidi…!!”
