Summary:
Kuririn thinks they’ll have to find Cell somehow. Trunks wonders if they can since Cell knows Piccolo’s power and has to hide his ki while attacking people. Tenshinhan says no matter what, he has to avoid teaming up with #17 and #18. Piccolo says that not only Earth is at stake, but the entire universe because he has Freeza’s blood. Vegeta says that Cell also has his blood and he wouldn’t mind joining them. The fewer opponents the better, and no matter who he’s fighting, he’ll kill them. Piccolo tells him that he couldn’t even handle artificial humans, there’s no way he could handle Cell if he was that much stronger. Vegeta doesn’t care and says he’ll go further, for a Super Saiyan. Trunks is shocked to hear this and Vegeta says that Kakarrot must be thinking the same thing. Vegeta tells them to do whatever they want and then flies off.
Piccolo questions if it is really possible to go beyond Super Saiyan. Kuririn thinks it wouldn’t be a good idea to go to the past and destroy number 17, and Trunks says yes, it would only help this dimension and have no effect on this dimension. Kuririn then figures out that it wouldn’t make sense to go destroy the incomplete Cell in Dr. Gero’s lab either, but Trunks thinks it would be a good idea to prevent another Cell from being born in this dimension’s future. Piccolo says they should go to the lab while he and Tenshinhan search the area. Kuririn tells them that if they don’t find Cell, go to Kame House, maybe they can find information about the news on the TV. Then Trunks and Kuririn fly away. Trunks considers going Super Saiyan down the road.
Up in the mountains to the north, Kuririn and Trunks look around the ruins until Trunks finds a way inside. A hole with a large ladder and jumps down it. A big super computer is running and they see a little cell embryo in a test tube type thing. Kuririn is about to blow everything up, but Trunks says to hold on, there are plans. The plans are for number 17 and Trunks is excited that mom was able to use it to find a weak spot. Then they start destroying the whole room. They fly back to the surface and Kuririn shoots down the final blast to finish it off. As they leave, Trunks asks Kuririn if he could take it to his mom for him, explaining that he wants to train with his dad because he could probably go beyond Super Saiyan. Kuririn doubts that Vegeta would let him, but Trunks says that even his father must realize that his training would go faster if he had a partner. And so they both separate and fly off in different directions.
Tenshinhan suddenly feels weak ki and Piccolo and Tenshinhan move away. They come to the city and see all the clothes of the victims; they are too late. Tenshinhan figures out that they should hide their ki before Cell notices them and runs away. Cell is on the roof, looking down at them and laughing. At Capsule Corp, Kuririn brought Bulma and Dr. Brief’s plans and explained everything about Cell. Dr. Brief doesn’t quite understand this and thinks that Dr. Gero was really something. However, Bulma reads it and notices various things. A human base remodeled with mostly organic matter. Fusion should be possible at this cellular level. He says he’ll have to take a closer look, but thinks the small device is a weak point. Dr. Brief tells Kuririn that he will check it out.
And so two days have passed… Someone is reporting on the news that a monster has appeared in a large city at point 48 of the Southern District, and half the population is already gone. Everyone is at the Kame House watching and Yamcha, Gohan, Tenshinhan, Kuririn and Piccolo get on a plane and head to the area so Cell doesn’t notice their ki flying. Meanwhile, Chi-Chi heads upstairs to Kame’s house and Goku gets out of bed! He says that he is healed and then starts to change into his dōgi. He heads downstairs, surprising Kame-Sen’nin to see him upstairs, while Chi-Chi protests that he should get more sleep. Goku says he heard everything in his sleep and then starts putting on his shoes. Chi-Chi says he can’t fight, but Goku says he won’t fight yet. If she couldn’t win against Vegeta, he couldn’t either. So he will aim even higher, for Super Saiyan.
