Summary:
Kuririn, who was on the ground with Bulma and Gohan, shouts to the others that it was Dr. Gero. Vegeta, Trunks, Tenshinhan and Piccolo land near Bulma and she explains that he was really famous. He seems evil, but he is a genius. He believes that he had to make himself an artificial human in order to live forever. Vegeta looks at Trunks and tells him that everything he said was bullshit, Dr. Gero should have been killed by artificial humans. Trunks figures maybe his arrival in the past before skewed history. Piccolo asks if #17 and #18 are the two he originally warned them about and asks for an explanation to avoid any more mistakes. “No. 17 is a boy with long black hair and a scarf around his neck… No. 18 is a cute girl type who dresses like me… They both have cool eyes and round earrings.”
Piccolo asks if they also absorb energy with their hands, but Trunks says they don’t need to, their energy is infinite. Trunks asks about Son Goku, and Kuririn says that the heart disease came out just now. Vegeta asks Bulma if she knows where Dr. Gero’s lab is, and she recalls hearing that he made a lab out of a cave in the mountains near North City. Piccolo thinks they should get to the lab and destroy it before Dr. Gero wakes up #17 and #18, but Vegeta won’t stand for anything so cowardly. Vegeta wants to take them out himself because the previous artificial human battles were so boring. Trunks yells that he can’t, he has to destroy the lab like Piccolo said. Or if they don’t make it in time, they have to wait for Son Goku to recover before they can fight. However, Vegeta won’t wait for Kakarrot and says that he will take them out himself since he is also a Super Saiyan now and a prince who is much stronger than Kakarrot. And he won’t allow any interference. Then Vegeta flies away.
Piccolo thinks that if he really is a Super Saiyan stronger than Goku, he might be able to take out the artificial people after all. Trunks says that he is also a Super Saiyan, but he is still no match for them. He then says that he won’t let his father die anymore and flies off to see Vegeta. Bulma wonders what he meant, maybe his father was killed by artificial humans. Piccolo figures there’s no point in keeping it from her anymore – “His name is Trunks. His father is Vegeta, his mother is you. In other words, he’s a grown-up version of that kid.” Bulma thinks they look alike, and Kuririn realizes why he’s a Super Saiyan. Piccolo says they should all look for the lab, and Tenshinhan, Kuririn, and Gohan agree. Bulma tells the kid Trunks what a good man he would become and she was scared because he looked bad.
Gohan asks Bulma if he can tell his father about the situation, but Bulma asks how since her plane is broken. Piccolo says take her, the rest can destroy the lab without him. Piccolo, Tenshinhan and Kuririn then fly away. Gohan grabs Bulma who is holding the baby and then Yajirobe stands up to them and tells them not to forget him. Meanwhile, #20 rushes across the ground, but stops and hides when he notices Vegeta flying by, followed by Trunks. He realizes he’s heading to his lab and can’t believe they know where it is. Only certain scientists should know… He then recognizes the girl as Bulma, the daughter of the Capsule Corporation. Tenshinhan, Kuririn, and Piccolo then fly past and he realizes that he really must be heading to his lab, realizing that they are going to destroy it before #17 and #18 wake up, but he decides to get there first.
Vegeta notices Trunks watching him and Trunks remembers something his mother told him. “Your dead father? Hmmm… He sure did a lot of bad things… No doubt he’s in hell now… But he had some good in him. His pride was high and he never showed kindness to anyone, but I know…” Trunks thinks that was a lie, there is nothing good about him at all, not even helping his mom and baby. Vegeta thinks it’s interesting that the kid will continue to follow him and speeds up. Trunks then turns Super Saiyan to catch up with them. Vegeta smirks and remembers that he can also become a Super Saiyan and since he’s his brat, he has Saiyan blood. And Gohan tries to fly through the air, holding Bulma with Yajirob on his back.
