Summary
Gokū and Kuririn are the next match in the tournament, much to Kuririn's surprise. Both contestants agree to a non-binding match.
Outside, Jackie Chun has stripped and Tenshinhan asks him why Muten Rōshi of all people would dress up to participate in a martial arts tournament. Muten Rōshi explains that it was not for him, but for his students. So that Gokū and Kuririn wouldn't gain too much confidence if they won, he wanted to be there so he could be strong enough competition to beat them. Tenshinhan believes that Muten Rōshi decided that his strength would be enough to defeat them, which was why he lost the match; However, Muten Rōshi says that this is not entirely true.
As the match begins, Muten Rōshi states that he realizes that his students are simply mature enough to handle the tournament victory. In the ring, Gokū and Kuririn are in the middle of a vicious battle. Despite this, Gokū seems to have the upper hand and pushes Kuririn back. Kuririn notes that Gokū is as good as he's ever been, but Gokū himself praises Kuririn for his own strength. The audience remains stunned, unable to believe that two children are fighting in the ring. As the two persist in battle, he advances into the air; Gokū jumps to avoid Kuririn, but the former monk uses his bald head to reflect sunlight towards Gokū. Stunning Gokū, Kuririn kicks him down into the ring, confident that the impact will defeat him. However, Goku manages to land on his feet, ready to continue the battle.
