 Summary

When Gokū is shocked that Muten Rōshi took three years to obtain the Super Holy Water, the boy comments that he doesn’t have that much time and decides to take Kara’s water. The boy then uses the images in an attempt to trick Karin, but the hermit then uses the technique to hit Goku.

As Karin marvels at Goku’s prowess, she informs the young boy that everything he had done up until then, from climbing the tower, had trained his body. The hermit then retrieves the boy’s bag of dragon balls and throws them off the tower, causing Gokū to jump down to grab them and climb the tower a second time. After an irritated Goku asks Karin why he would make him climb the tower again, the hermit informs him that it took him almost a day to reach it the first time, but only three hours on the second trip, proving that Goku’s body was he really trained.

Gokū still can’t get water as the sun sets and overnight, and Karin decides that he and Gokū should rest for the next day . Gokū later wakes up and is tempted to take the water while the hermit sleeps, but decides not to cheat. Unbeknownst to the boy, Karin was conscious the whole time and was surprised by the boy’s honesty.

The next day, Gokū finally gets the water that took him a total of three days to secure . After the boy drinks the water, Karin reveals that it was no different from any other water, and claims that the process of climbing the tower twice and stealing the water container from his possession was the entire training regimen that Gokū raises. As the boy leaves, Karin assumes that the young boy has already overcome his master Muten Rōshi.
