Summary
Mr. Popo brings Shenron’s model to God and proceeds to repair the damage. God admits that he originally had no intention of fixing Shenron because humans subverted the original intention that the Dragon Balls exist to give humans hope and courage so that they are not misused for selfish purposes. However, people like Gokū inspired him and God resurrects Shenron.
God informs Gokū that the Dragon Balls have been restored, but Gokū needs to train with him. In three years, Piccolo Junior arrives at Tenkaichi Budōkai to kill Son Gokū. God tells Goku that it must be him because he and Mr. Popo have their reasons for not fighting Piccolo’s reincarnation. As Gokū runs to the bathroom, Mr. Popo informs God that if Piccolo dies, so will he, God, because they are one person. God acknowledges this, but admits that he must take responsibility. Since he cannot commit suicide like God, Goku must be the one to kill Piccolo.
On Earth, Shenron informs Goku’s friends that Goku is training with God and asked the deity to revive him. He also mentions Goku as training at the Palace of God to become the next Tenkaichi Budōkai and proceeds to grant their wishes, reviving all those killed by Piccolo Daimaō. As Muten Rōshi explains that Gokū is training with God, it motivates the others and they begin training for the upcoming Tenkaichi Budōkai.
