 Summary

After a brief scare, Bulma begins to get ready for the day. Gokū, still impatient, tells Bulma if she was slower, she would be a turtle. The boy gets up and decides to go outside and exercise, thwarting Bulma’s attempts to teach the boy some manners. Gokū runs and picks up and smashes a large boulder before going to repeat the process. Only in this case, Gokū finds the Umigame instead of the boulder. Surprised, the boy believes that Bulma really turned into a turtle until the girl came out on her own. Bulma figured it was a sea turtle and immediately asked Umigame for a snack. Umigame explained that he was actually a sea turtle and had been lost from the sea for a year while collecting mushrooms. Bulma, shocked to find this out, told the turtle that he was 120 kilometers south of the ocean, far in the opposite direction of his intended destination.
Gokū immediately volunteered to take the Umigame back to the sea, much to Bulma’s . irritation. Bulma tries to convince Gokū not to, pointing out that they only have 30 days to find the Dragon Balls, and they can’t waste those days accompanying sea turtles. Gokū is stubborn and tells Bulma that if she has time to waste dressing up, she can take the Umigame back to the sea. With Bulma’s warning that if Gokū leaves, he will never return, the boy hoists the turtle onto his back and runs away. Remembering that she still needs Goku’s Dragon Ball as well as seeing the dinosaurs in the area, Bulma gets on her motorbike in fear and follows Goku and Umigame, saying that someone needs to tell them where to go. Gokū immediately deduces that she just didn’t want to be alone.
However, the three are stopped by a bear thief who demands that they give him an Umigame to eat. Bulma is only too happy to agree to the mysterious bandit’s demands, but Gokū refuses. Gokū then fends off the thief and launches his signature Jan Ken attack for the first time. Bulma and Umigame are as always amazed by Goku’s strength. However, Gokū is surprised that the sea turtles taste as good as the Bear Thief said; the turtle throws it back in panic.
The trio arrive at the sea, much to Umigame’s gratitude and Goku’s surprise, as he mistook the ocean for a very wide river. Umigame thanks Gokū and tells him to wait on the shore and he will return with a gift for the boy’s generosity. Bulma quickly dives into the water, wishing he had brought a swimsuit, while Gokū tries to taste the water and is outraged by the salty taste. After a short wait, the couple see the turtle return; Gokū himself can clearly see that it is an Umigame with someone on his back. When the turtle reaches land, to Goku and Bulma’s confusion, the person on the Umigame’s back is a shadowy man in a patterned shirt and turtle shell.
